About University of Leicester
The University of Leicester is a leading UK university committed to international excellence through world changing research and inspirational teaching. The University is ranked 21st out of 766 universities in the world, in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking, placing it in the top 3%. Of our 14,000 full-time, campus-based students, over 25% come from outside the European Union, from more than 70 different countries.
Ideally located in the centre of England, Leicester is the perfect base from which to visit other nearby cities, including Nottingham and Birmingham, and is just 160km (or one hour train journey) from London.
The University occupies an attractive campus close to the city centre and offers a wide range of catered and self-catered University-managed accommodation to suit all tastes. The campus includes a state-of-the-art library, restaurants, sport and health club, and student services centre. Our newly-redeveloped Students’ Union includes a 1,750-capacity entertainment venue, shops, cafes, and a bank.
