The University of West London (formerly Thames Valley University) received the highest increase in UCAS applications of any higher education institution this year. Employer engagement is at the heart of its new strategic direction. Student services offers excellent support and the Matrix-standard Careers and Employment Service help students secure full-time and part-time jobs. Programmes at the university include accounting and finance, enterprise and entrepreneurship, photography and media, psychology and tourism. There is a large student body, with many mature, part-time and ethnic minority students. The West London students union runs events and campaigns throughout the year. New societies for this year include Womens Rugby Appreciation, Edify Magazine and Bollyaerobics.
